Find Your Next Best Performing Keywords

What It Does

Start with a Reverse ASIN search in Helium 10 to see every keyword you and your competitors are indexed for on Amazon. Then this skill scans your CSV file to surface two things: the top-performing terms in your niche, and the opportunity keywords your competitors rank for that you haven't touched yet.

It also splits branded from non-branded keywords, so you can build your organic strategy around new search traffic and spot competitor brand terms worth bidding on.

It runs two filters, each answering a different question about your business:

Top Keywords
Keywords a majority of your competitors rank for, with enough search volume to be worth owning. These are proven, contestable terms you should already be showing up for.
Opportunity Keywords
Keywords where only one or two competitors hold a top-15 organic position, and they're potential keywords that you should also be targeting.

Both automatically strip branded search terms into a separate tab, so your shortlist stays focused on searches where your brand can convert.

What You Need Before You Start

The Skill reads a csv export directly from Helium 10’s Keyword Research feature. To get a usable export, you need a Helium 10 Platinum plan or higher. As well as access to Claude.

If you're running a growing brand and doing intensive keyword research, the Platinum Plan is the floor. The Diamond Plan gives you historical ranking data on top of it, which opens up additional research you can run in the platform.

How to Install

This skill works on two Claude surfaces: Claude chat (web or desktop app) and Claude Cowork (desktop only). Both use the same upload process and the same skill file. Install it once per surface you plan to use.

Option A: Claude.ai Chat

Option B: Claude Cowork

Cowork uses the same skill file and the same Customize > Skills location as chat. If you've already installed the skill for chat, it's already available in Cowork too, and vice versa. There is nothing additional to install.

Which one should you use?
Chat is the simpler choice for a one-off keyword pull: upload your CSV, run the filters, get your workbook. Cowork is better if you want to batch several Cerebro exports across multiple product lines in one working session, or combine this skill with other Helium 10 skills in a longer workflow.

Already have other H10 skills installed?
The keyword skill works alongside your existing skills on either surface. Install it the same way and it will appear in the list without affecting anything else.

Prompt Guide

The examples below are designed for established brand operators. Copy, adjust, and use them directly in Cowork. The clearer you are about your ASIN and your goal, the better the output.

Additional Tips

The keyword decisions you make have real financial consequences. A few things worth knowing:

  • Run Helium 10 against your top 5 to 7 competitors, not just one. The skill's filtering logic scales with the number of competitors in the export. More ASINs means a tighter, more confident shortlist.
  • Run the full export, not a filtered one. Let the skill do the filtering. If you pre-filter in Helium 10 before exporting, you may cut out keywords the skill would have caught.
  • Run both plays before any listing refresh or PPC build. Top Keywords tells you where you need to be. Opportunity Keywords tells you where you can move up quickly. They answer different strategic questions.
  • Check the brand tab before deleting it. Sometimes a keyword that looks branded is actually a category term in your niche. The Brand Match column tells you why each term was flagged so you can audit it in under a minute.
  • Re-run quarterly. Keyword rankings shift. Running this every 90 days gives you a clear view of where competitors are moving and where new gaps have opened up.
